Clove essential oil has been known to be a great antiseptic and has traditionally been used to relieve symptoms of colds, flatulence, indigestion and can help restore appetite. Clove's antiseptic and pain-relieving properties are attributed to its eugenol, b-caryophyllene and a-humulene content. These components are found in all cuts of clove but are most balanced in the bud.
Blends well with: basil, black pepper, cajeput, cinnamon, ginger, lavender, peppermint, rosemary thyme, most citrus oils
Caution: Possible dermal sensitizer and irritant. Dermal limit less than 0.5% dilution. Avoid use during pregnancy.
