DIY Bath & Body - Tropical Fruit Crush Mask

Tropical Fruit Crush Mask

A smoothening face mask that harnesses the power of tropical fruits right from your kitchen. Pineapple contains bromelain, a powerful enzyme that helps dissolve dead skin cells and brighten dull complexions, while papaya offers papain, another natural enzyme that promotes cell turnover. The white kaolin clay draws out impurities from pores without over-drying the skin, making it perfect for all skin types.

What This Mask Does for You

Brighten dull skin and clear up minor breakouts with this enzyme-rich mask that works like a gentle, natural facial. The natural fruit acids gently renew your skin's surface, removing dead skin cells that can make your complexion look tired and lacklustre.

Perfect for: All skin types, especially those dealing with dullness, minor breakouts, or uneven texture.

Ingredients You'll Need

  • 2 tbsp white kaolin clay
  • 1 tbsp fresh pineapple flesh
  • 1 tbsp fresh papaya flesh

Pro Tip! Choose ripe but firm fruits for the best enzyme activity and easier application.

Instructions

Step 1: In a clean bowl, mash the pineapple and papaya flesh together using a fork until you achieve a relatively smooth consistency. Don't worry about making it perfectly smooth - a little texture adds to the gentle exfoliating effect.

Step 2: Allow the mashed fruit to sit for a minute, then carefully drain any excess juice. You want the fruit pulp to be moist but not dripping, as too much liquid will make the mask difficult to apply and may cause it to slide off your face.

Step 3: Gradually mix in the white kaolin clay, stirring until you achieve a smooth, spreadable paste. The consistency should be similar to thick yogurt – substantial enough to stay put on your face, but smooth enough to apply evenly.

Step 4: Apply the mask to clean, dry skin using your fingertips or a clean brush, avoiding the delicate eye area. The mask should form an even layer across your face.

Step 5: Now comes the best part – relax! Let the mask work its magic for 8-10 minutes while you unwind. You might feel a gentle tingling sensation as the fruit enzymes get to work.

Step 6: Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Follow with your favourite toner and moisturizer to lock in hydration.
