Long used in candles and diffusers to deter insects, research on Citronella has shown it to be particularly effective in repelling the aedes aegypti mosquito. Lesser known is its ability to fight fevers and bacterial infections, reduce swelling, water retention and arthritic pain. Emotionally, the warming scent of Citronella has been known to alleviate depression and anxiety.
Try It: Create your own natural insect repellent by mixing 10 drops Citronella essential oil to 10ml of base carrier oil. Massage gently into skin.
